Code of Conduct

The Agentic AI for Science Developer Summit is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or academic seniority. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.

This Code of Conduct applies to all summit spaces — venue floors, social events, sprints, hallway conversations, and any online space hosted in connection with the event — both during and outside the scheduled program.

Expected behavior

  • Be respectful and inclusive in your language and actions.
  • Engage with the work and with each other in good faith. Disagreement is welcome; harassment is not.
  • Credit ideas, code, and data honestly. Provenance is the whole point of the work we’re doing here.
  • Respect the privacy of others and the confidentiality of any unpublished or embargoed material shared with you during the summit.
  • Take care of the venue, the staff, and each other. The AI Futures Lab and UC Berkeley are hosting us; treat the space with the same care you’d want extended to your own lab.

Unacceptable behavior

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Comments that exclude people or hold them up for ridicule based on membership in a specific group — including level of experience, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurotype, personal appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion, or nationality.
  • Sexist, racist, or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language.
  • Sexualized language or imagery, including in presentations.
  • Violent threats or language directed against another person.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
  • Unwelcome physical contact, or unwelcome sexual attention or advances.
  • Publishing others’ private information without their explicit permission.
  • Sustained disruption of talks, sessions, or sprints.
  • Continuing to initiate interaction — including photography, recording, or conversation — with someone after being asked to stop.
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.

If you experience or witness harassment, or have any other concerns, please reach out — in person or by email — to either of the summit’s designated contact persons:

All reports are handled confidentially.

Consequences

Anyone asked by an organizer to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. Organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including warning the offender, removing them from the summit with no refund of travel support, and, in serious cases, contacting local law enforcement.
